Guest Publishing & Contributor Guidelines
Contributing to Cyber Insight EU
Cyber Insight EU welcomes submissions from freelance journalists, subject matter experts, researchers, students, and industry practitioners who can provide original analysis, critical perspectives, or detailed investigations. Our guest contributor initiative aims to broaden our coverage with distinct regional and technical insights. It is explicitly not an avenue for search engine optimization tactics, sponsored link schemes, automated content distribution, or undisclosed public relations.
Every pitch and submission must adhere strictly to Cyber Insight EU’s foundational standards, including our Code of Editorial Ethics, Fact-Checking Protocols, Citation Guidelines, and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Core Subject Areas
We are actively seeking coverage across a variety of crucial domains, including:
- Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technologies
- Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Protection
- Technology Policy, Governance & Digital Rights
- Global Political Economy & Workforce Shifts
- Climate Tech & Environmental Policy
- Culture, Education & Generational Trends
- Media Integrity & Information Ecosystems
We favor pitches that go beyond general topical suggestions. A successful pitch clearly outlines a specific question, presents a core argument, details a reporting plan, and demonstrates why the story is essential for our readers.
Accepted Formats
- News Analysis: Deep-dive commentary contextualizing major recent developments.
- Explainers: Comprehensive breakdowns of complex technologies, legislation, or ongoing controversies.
- Reported Features: Narrative articles combining field observations, data, and primary source interviews.
- Opinion & Essays: Persuasive, evidence-backed arguments on pressing policy or technical issues.
- Interviews: In-depth Q&A sessions with leading thinkers, practitioners, or affected individuals.
- Case Studies: Structured examinations of specific projects, organizational failures, or technical implementations.
- Technical Audits & Reviews: Dissecting software, security architectures, or hardware, written under rigorous, transparent criteria.
Submission Process: Pitch First
Unless specifically invited to submit a full draft, all writers should first send a concise proposal to contributors@cyberinsighteu.com. Your email should outline:
- Proposed working headline and format.
- Central thesis or main investigative question.
- Timeliness and relevance.
- Proposed methodology and key sources.
- Anticipated word count and delivery timeframe.
- Relevant background, past work, and potential conflicts of interest.
- Declarations regarding any use of automated generation tools or third-party funding.
Please paste your proposal directly into the email body rather than attaching external files. Unsolicited pitches do not guarantee commissioning or publication.
Selection Criteria
Proposals are evaluated based on their alignment with Cyber Insight EU’s editorial focus, analytical rigor, rely on verifiable facts, and offer unique insights. We look for pitches with realistic research plans that acknowledge nuance and uncertainty.
We routinely decline pitches that read like corporate press announcements, offer generic productivity advice, focus on keyword ranking, rely on unverified claims, or serve primarily as promotional vehicles for a product, client, or company.
Disqualified Material
Cyber Insight EU maintains zero tolerance for:
- Plagiarism, text spinning, or unattributed copying.
- Fabricated statistics, quotes, or sources.
- Undisclosed PR, hidden commercial ties, or paid backlink insertion.
- AI-generated bulk text or synthetic author profiles.
- Defamatory, unsafe, deceptive, or illegally obtained material.
- Content designed to harass individuals or manipulate search rankings.
Author Accountability & Pseudonyms
Contributors must provide their legal name, requested byline, real background details, and current affiliations. For stories carrying significant legal, personal, or security risks, Cyber Insight EU may require identity verification prior to publication.
Pseudonyms are granted exclusively in cases where public attribution poses a legitimate threat to personal safety or professional livelihood. Pseudonyms will never be permitted to mask commercial conflicts, ghostwriting arrangements, or client work.
Sourcing & Verification
Factual assertions must be supported by primary documentation, research papers, or verified datasets. Writers should be prepared to submit original interview notes, transcripts, or data logs upon request.
Where serious claims or critiques are levied against an individual or institution, the author must work with our editorial team to execute a formal Right of Reply, giving the subject a fair opportunity to respond prior to publication.
Conflicts of Interest & Financial Disclosures
Transparency is vital. Contributors must disclose any financial or personal ties to the subjects of their writing—including equity, client relationships, advisory roles, gifts, paid travel, or political affiliations.
Disclosing a potential conflict does not automatically disqualify a draft, but hiding one will result in immediate rejection or post-publication retraction.
Commercial & Sponsored Submissions
Articles commissioned by clients, agencies, or PR firms are not processed through our standard contributor queue. Commercial opportunities, sponsored articles, and partnership inquiries must be directed to advertising@cyberinsighteu.com.
All commercial content is clearly marked to ensure our readers can easily distinguish independent journalism from paid advocacy.
Backlinks & Search Policy
Editorial links are included solely to serve the reader and substantiate facts. Cyber Insight EU does not sell, trade, or negotiate embedded links within editorial pieces. We reserve the absolute right to remove, modify, or add rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored" attributes to any hyperlink.
Pitches submitted with the primary intent of acquiring links, promoting specific commercial landing pages, or fulfilling client SEO contracts will be rejected.
Disclosure of AI Tools
Authors must explicitly disclose if artificial intelligence or automated tools were used during research, transcription, outline generation, or editing. While utility tools (like basic spellcheckers) do not require disclosure, generative writing models cannot be listed as authors, and writers remain fully responsible for the factual accuracy of every word published.
Article Length Guidelines
- Short Features / Analysis: ~700 – 1,000 words
- Standard Explainers & Guides: ~1,000 – 1,800 words
- In-depth Investigations & Essays: ~1,500 – 2,500+ words
Quality and clarity always supersede word counts; drafts should never be padded with unnecessary jargon or repetitive summaries.
Rights & Re-use
Unless a formal paid commissioning contract specifies otherwise, authors retain copyright over their original text while granting Cyber Insight EU an exclusive first-publication license and a perpetual non-exclusive right to archive, syndicate, adapt, or translate the piece across our digital platforms.
