Terms of Use

Agreement and Scope

These Terms of Use apply to your access to and use of the CyberInsightEU website, editorial material, newsletters, submission forms, published policies, multimedia features, contributor services and other publication-related functions. By using CyberInsightEU, you agree to observe these Terms insofar as they are legally applicable to your use. If you do not accept them, you should stop using the relevant service, except where access is required to exercise a legal right, submit a correction, disclose a security vulnerability or otherwise use material in a manner protected by law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove a mandatory legal entitlement.

Publication Identity

CyberInsightEU is operated as an independent digital publication. Unless a separately confirmed legal entity or operator is identified on the Publisher and Legal Information page or within a particular agreement, references to CyberInsightEU refer to the independent publisher responsible for the publication and its website. These Terms should not be interpreted as a representation that CyberInsightEU is incorporated, licensed, accredited, regulated, physically located or staffed in any particular manner unless that information has been expressly disclosed.

Content

CyberInsightEU may publish News, Analysis, Explainers, Investigations, Interviews, Opinion, Reviews, Sponsored Content, Partner Content, Press Releases, advertising, public policies, contributor material, newsletters, photographs, graphics, audio, video, data visualizations and other editorial or technical material. Headlines, labels, bylines, publication dates, disclosures, correction notices, methodology notes and source information may form part of the material and should be read together with the underlying content.

General Information and Professional Advice

CyberInsightEU publishes material for journalism, analysis, commentary, education, criticism, research and general public information. Unless a service is expressly described as professional advice and provided under appropriate qualifications and terms, publication content should not be treated as individualized legal, medical, financial, investment, tax, accounting, cybersecurity, engineering, compliance or other professional advice. Readers should obtain advice from suitably qualified professionals before relying on information for decisions involving significant legal, financial, technical, security, safety or other consequences. The qualifications or experience of an individual contributor do not, by themselves, establish a professional-client relationship with a reader.

Accuracy and Updates

CyberInsightEU aims to report information accurately and responsibly, but individual pages may contain errors, omissions, incomplete information, later developments or legitimately disputed interpretations. Reporting on cybersecurity incidents, vulnerabilities, technologies and rapidly changing events may become outdated as new information emerges. The original publication date identifies when an article was first published, while an updated date indicates that material changes have subsequently been made. Older reporting should therefore be understood in the factual and technological context existing at the time of publication. Specific factual concerns may be submitted to corrections@cyberinsighteu.com.

Opinions

Opinion pieces express the views of the named author unless the article expressly indicates otherwise. The publication of an opinion does not necessarily mean that CyberInsightEU adopts every conclusion, argument or characterization contained in it as an institutional position. Factual assertions appearing within opinion material remain subject to applicable accuracy standards. Readers may challenge, criticize or disagree with published opinions; disagreement alone does not establish a right to have an article removed.

Commercial Content

Sponsored Content, Partner Content, affiliate-supported material, Press Releases and advertising are subject to the applicable disclosure and commercial-content policies. Their appearance on CyberInsightEU should not automatically be understood as an independent endorsement by the publication. Readers should consider the identity of the commercial party, supporting evidence, applicable terms, disclosures and destination before relying on a commercial claim. Payment or commercial participation does not by itself establish that a product or service is effective, lawful, secure, suitable or safe.

Permitted Personal Use

Subject to applicable law and these Terms, visitors may access publicly available pages, share links, quote limited portions with appropriate attribution, use material for personal research, refer to published material in criticism, education, journalism or scholarship, make limited personal copies, use accessibility or translation functions for personal access and use public feeds in accordance with their stated conditions. Where reasonably possible, attribution should identify CyberInsightEU, the relevant article and its author. Permitted use must not falsely suggest that CyberInsightEU sponsors, certifies, partners with or officially endorses the person, organization, product or service using the material.

Intellectual Property

Articles, website design, illustrations, photographs, recordings, videos, databases, logos, trademarks, branding, software, code and other elements may be protected by copyright, trademark, database rights, contractual restrictions or other legal rights. Ownership may rest with CyberInsightEU, its publisher, an author, photographer, designer, agency, contributor, commercial partner, licensor or another rights holder. Access to the website does not transfer any ownership interest to the visitor. Requests concerning reproduction or licensing are addressed under the Copyright and Content Licensing Policy.

Prohibited Reproduction

Except where permitted by law or authorized in writing, users must not reproduce a substantial portion of an article, systematically duplicate the website, remove required attribution, commercially resell CyberInsightEU material, create a misleading adaptation, reproduce protected images without authorization, substantially copy a database, represent published material as their own work, translate and republish substantial material without permission, use CyberInsightEU branding to imply an official relationship or commercially syndicate content without an applicable agreement. A limited quotation made with appropriate attribution is distinct from reproducing the substance or substantial portion of a work.

Automated Access

Automated systems must operate within applicable law and respect published technical instructions, robots controls, security mechanisms, rate restrictions, intellectual-property rights, privacy requirements, licensing conditions, public feeds and written permissions. Automated tools must not deliberately burden infrastructure, circumvent access controls, defeat rate limits, access restricted or private information, disrupt services, create deceptive accounts, impersonate users, unlawfully collect personal information, use credentials without authorization or disregard an expressly stated technical restriction.

Search-engine crawling and ordinary accessibility technologies may access publicly available material in accordance with applicable technical controls and legal requirements.

Artificial Intelligence and Dataset Use

Except where applicable law, a public technical instruction, an express license or a written agreement permits the activity, CyberInsightEU material must not be systematically copied for commercial model training, large-scale dataset construction, synthetic republication or operation of a competing content service. This does not prohibit ordinary reading, lawful quotation, accessibility functions, indexing that complies with applicable technical controls, legally protected research, licensed use or other activity that does not unlawfully reproduce protected material.

Requests concerning broader machine-use, licensing or dataset rights may be directed to legal@cyberinsighteu.com. CyberInsightEU does not claim that these Terms can restrict any use that applicable law independently permits.

Prohibited Conduct

Users must not use CyberInsightEU services to distribute malware, obtain credentials without authorization, test or probe systems outside the applicable vulnerability-disclosure rules, disrupt availability, defeat security protections, impersonate individuals or organizations, provide deliberately fraudulent identity information, conduct deceptive bulk outreach, threaten or harass others, expose unlawful private information, reveal confidential sources or submit non-consensual intimate material. Users must also refrain from infringing third-party rights, manipulating forms, unlawfully collecting personal information, distributing spam, concealing paid relationships, fabricating evidence, submitting knowingly false copyright allegations, interfering with legitimate correction or complaint procedures, producing deceptive copies of CyberInsightEU or misusing its identity to mislead others.

Good-faith security research conducted in accordance with the Security and Vulnerability Disclosure Policy is addressed separately.

Forms and Submissions

Users may submit enquiries, story pitches, corrections, complaints, replies, advertising proposals, accessibility reports, security reports, documents, photographs, comments if community features are subsequently enabled, or other material. By making a submission, the sender confirms, to the best of their knowledge, that the material is lawful, that their identity and authority have not been deliberately misrepresented, that necessary rights are available, that the submission is not knowingly infected with malicious code, that relevant confidentiality conditions have been identified, that third-party rights are disclosed where relevant, that material commercial relationships have been declared and that material facts have not intentionally been fabricated. Senders should avoid providing unnecessary sensitive personal information.

A submission does not create an obligation to publish, pay, maintain confidentiality or provide an individual response. Confidential treatment of a source or submission requires an express arrangement rather than being inferred solely from the act of submission.

License for Submitted Material

Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, submitting material for possible publication gives CyberInsightEU a non-exclusive right to review, retain, store, edit, reproduce for editorial assessment, publish where accepted, display, archive, promote, correct, technically format or adapt, quote, distribute and maintain records where reasonably required for the submitted purpose and editorial accountability. The scope of this permission is limited by the purpose of the submission and applicable law. Unless separately agreed in writing, contributors retain their underlying copyright.

Contributor Terms

Authors and contributors may also be subject to the Author and Contributor Standards, Guest Posting and Contributor Guidelines, individual commissioning terms, disclosure requirements, rights arrangements, correction responsibilities and other applicable editorial policies. Publication of a person’s work does not, by itself, establish employment, agency, partnership or authority to represent CyberInsightEU unless a written agreement expressly establishes such a relationship.

No Guaranteed Publication

CyberInsightEU may decline, postpone, revise, reclassify, withdraw or discontinue submitted material. Approval of a pitch does not create a promise that the resulting work will be published. Advertising payments, sponsorship discussions or other commercial arrangements do not guarantee independent editorial coverage. No individual is authorized to sell or promise guaranteed independent publication on behalf of CyberInsightEU unless expressly authorized under a written arrangement.

Comments and Community Features

Public comments are not enabled at launch. If CyberInsightEU later introduces comments or other community functionality, additional requirements may apply to accounts, moderation, privacy, acceptable conduct, removal, appeals, retention, children, spam and user-generated material. CyberInsightEU may restrict, suspend or discontinue community functionality where it cannot reasonably operate those features in a safe and responsible manner.

External Links and Embedded Content

CyberInsightEU may provide links to external websites for source material, attribution, background information, services or commercial purposes. External websites remain outside CyberInsightEU’s direct control, and the publication does not guarantee their continued availability, accuracy, legality, security, privacy practices, accessibility, product quality, ownership or future content. A hyperlink should not be interpreted as an endorsement of every statement, product or service found at the linked destination.

Embedded video, audio, social posts, documents, interactive material and other third-party components may operate under separate provider terms and privacy practices. Where technically available, optional embedded technologies may remain disabled until a visitor makes an applicable cookie or consent choice.

Availability

CyberInsightEU may modify, temporarily suspend, restrict or discontinue website functions because of maintenance, security measures, legal requirements, incident response, technical failures, provider outages, editorial corrections, privacy considerations, rights issues, operational changes or the protection of readers, contributors and sources. Continuous or uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. Where reasonably practicable, CyberInsightEU seeks to preserve the integrity and accessibility of its editorial archive.

Accounts

If account functionality is introduced, users are expected to provide accurate information, safeguard authentication credentials, use appropriate passwords, report suspected compromise, avoid unauthorized credential sharing, satisfy applicable age and authority requirements and use their accounts lawfully. CyberInsightEU may suspend or restrict an account where reasonably necessary because of security concerns, abuse, impersonation, fraud or material breach of these Terms. Ordinary public reading does not require a reader account at launch.

Newsletters

Newsletter recipients may unsubscribe through the mechanism provided with the relevant communication. CyberInsightEU may nevertheless send necessary administrative communications relating to subscriptions, consent, security, delivery, policy changes, corrections or service operation where appropriate. Subscription does not guarantee a particular publication frequency, uninterrupted delivery or inclusion of specific articles.

Commercial Transactions

Advertising, sponsorship, licensing and paid services may be governed by separate written agreements addressing matters such as scope, fees, taxes, payment, production, disclosure, approval rights, cancellation, liability, intellectual property, confidentiality, performance obligations, refunds and governing law. Where a valid specific agreement conflicts with these general Terms, the specific agreement controls the relevant relationship to the extent permitted by law.

Privacy

CyberInsightEU processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and applicable legal requirements. Visiting or using the website does not constitute consent to optional tracking where applicable law requires affirmative consent. Visitors may use the available Cookie Settings to manage optional technologies.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its content are provided on an available basis without a guarantee that every service or page will operate continuously or without error. CyberInsightEU does not warrant uninterrupted operation, complete freedom from third-party malicious activity, continued availability of external resources, suitability for a particular decision, a particular commercial result, search visibility, indexing, media distribution, AI citation, accuracy of every forecast or prediction, or continued validity of information that may change over time. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, duty or responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent legally permitted, CyberInsightEU will not be responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising solely from reliance on general informational material, third-party websites, service interruptions, unauthorized actions by third parties, unsupported submissions, changed circumstances, failure to obtain an anticipated commercial result or use of the services in violation of these Terms. This limitation does not apply to liabilities that applicable law prevents from being excluded or restricted, including where relevant fraud, deliberate misconduct, personal injury or another legally protected category.

Readers remain responsible for obtaining appropriate professional advice and independently verifying information that may have significant or time-sensitive consequences before acting upon it.

Restriction and Termination

CyberInsightEU may restrict access, block technical identifiers, decline a submission, suspend a service or terminate a relationship where reasonably necessary because of security threats, unlawful conduct, harassment, impersonation, fraud, malware, repeated spam, infringement of rights, breach of a commercial agreement, risk to sources, misuse of complaint procedures, circumvention of technical safeguards or a material breach of these Terms. Where practical and appropriate, restrictions will be proportionate to the underlying issue.

Copyright, Corrections and Complaints

Copyright matters are handled under the Copyright and Content Licensing Policy. A rights notice should identify the protected work, rights holder, authority to act where relevant, exact location of the material, nature of the alleged infringement, requested remedy and supporting information. CyberInsightEU may request additional information, consult an affected contributor or decline to act where the reported use appears legally permitted.

Specific factual corrections may be submitted to corrections@cyberinsighteu.com. Formal editorial complaints and requests for a right of reply may be sent to complaints@cyberinsighteu.com. Legal notices may be directed to legal@cyberinsighteu.com. Privacy matters may be sent to privacy@cyberinsighteu.com. Security vulnerabilities and security-related reports may be submitted to security@cyberinsighteu.com.

Changes, Severability and Waiver

CyberInsightEU may revise these Terms when required by changes in law, new website functions, account or service developments, operational changes, commercial arrangements, security requirements, user feedback or organizational changes. Material revisions will be reflected through an updated effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice. An amendment does not retrospectively remove rights that have already accrued under applicable law or a valid separate agreement.

If any provision is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to operate to the extent legally possible. A decision not to enforce a provision on one occasion does not necessarily constitute a permanent waiver of the right to enforce it subsequently.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

The law and jurisdiction applicable to a dispute may depend on the parties involved, their location, the nature of the activity, any governing contract, the subject of the dispute, mandatory consumer or privacy protections, applicable legal procedures and other relevant circumstances. Unless a valid written agreement provides otherwise, these Terms do not attempt to impose a jurisdiction or governing-law arrangement that would unlawfully remove mandatory rights or obligations.
