Public Corrections Log

Purpose

The Cyber Insight EU Public Corrections Log provides a transparent record of material post-publication changes made under the Corrections and Updates Policy. Its purpose is to help readers distinguish ordinary copyediting from changes that affect factual accuracy, context, disclosure, classification, reliability or the central conclusion of an article. The log forms part of Cyber Insight EU’s public accountability system and is not intended to reproduce every minor change or unnecessarily repeat harmful, private, defamatory or security-sensitive information.

What the Log Records

The log records material factual corrections, headline corrections, identity corrections, numerical corrections, clarifications, editor’s notes, substantial disclosure additions, article reclassification, material right-of-reply additions, substantive updates where public accountability requires a record, retractions and removals requiring public explanation.

It does not normally record punctuation changes, grammar corrections, ordinary spelling corrections, formatting, broken-link repair, alternative-text improvement, accessibility markup, non-material metadata correction or other changes that do not alter meaning. A minor-looking change is still recorded where it affects identity, legal status, commercial disclosure, chronology, scale or interpretation.

Testing-Period Archive Review

Cyber Insight EU operated in a testing and practice phase before its controlled public launch. During that period, publicly accessible pages were published while institutional identity, authorship, article classification, guest-contribution controls, correction processes and public governance architecture were still being developed. Testing status does not remove responsibility for material that was publicly accessible.

The launch archive review examines administrative bylines, repeated or malformed dates, subject categories and tags, unsupported or insufficiently qualified claims, grammar and spacing, duplicated paragraphs, unclear article classification, missing source or methodology information, image rights and credits, missing commercial disclosures, supplied company materials, contributor identity, unsuitable links, metadata, structured data, privacy, accessibility and legal risk.

Where review identifies a material factual, authorship, disclosure or classification failure, Cyber Insight EU applies an appropriate correction, editor’s note, reclassification, retraction or removal and records the action here when public accountability requires it.

Current Status

As of 6 August 2026, no formal correction entry had been finalized under the launch version of the Corrections and Updates Policy. This statement does not mean that every testing-period article has completed review or that no correction will be required. The first entries will be added when the relevant article review and editorial decision are complete.

Entry Format

Each entry identifies the date of action, exact article title and permanent link, action type, original issue, action taken and effect on the central conclusion. Action types include Correction, Clarification, Editor’s Note, Substantive Update, Right-of-Reply Addition, Reclassification, Retraction and Removal.

A correction entry states what was inaccurate and the correct information. A clarification entry explains wording that was materially ambiguous or incomplete. A disclosure entry identifies a commercial, professional, access, travel, supplied-material or other relationship that was not adequately explained. A retraction entry explains why the article’s central reporting can no longer be relied upon.

Effect on the Central Conclusion

Every material entry states whether the action did not affect the conclusion, materially qualified the conclusion, changed part of the conclusion, reversed the conclusion or made the article unreliable and required retraction. This prevents a correction from being described in a way that minimizes its actual importance.

Sensitive Information

The log may describe a correction at a higher level where detailed repetition would expose a child, identify a confidential source, reveal private medical or intimate information, repeat defamatory material, disclose a security vulnerability, publish credentials, increase physical risk or conflict with a lawful order. The article and entry still provide enough information for readers to understand the accountability action where possible.

External Distribution

Where a material error circulated through a newsletter, social account, syndication feed or external partner, the entry may record efforts to correct the affected distribution channel. Cyber Insight EU cannot guarantee that every external cache, screenshot, repost or quotation will update immediately.

Record Integrity

Correction entries are not silently deleted. If an entry itself contains an error, it is corrected transparently. The log preserves the chronological history of accountability actions.

Reporting an Error

Readers may submit a specific correction request to corrections@cyberinsighteu.com. The request should include the article URL, exact passage, reason for concern and supporting evidence. Formal complaints about the handling of a correction may be sent to complaints@cyberinsighteu.com.
